Just a quick note to thank everyone for their kind comments and support on the “Guardian situation”. For reasons of decency and confidentiality I can’t go into detail publicly, but the bottom line is that my prospects of joining the Guardian team are nil.
Many of you have expressed bemusement at the reason, but the situation is what it is and my job now is to do all I can to keep entertaining you via the other outlets – which I will; we’re still going to have a lot of fun together!
PS: You have to laugh. Can’t get myself on the back page, but just been informed a photo of one of my puzzles is on the front page of today’s Guardian website!
